The Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality would like to warn local Job seekers about the current scam that has been inviting job seekers to an interview at the Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality in which applicants had to call ‘Mr Thamsanqa Sithole’ has come to our attention.

A man by the name of Mr. Thamsanqa Sithole who is not known to the Municipality is fraudulently posing as a Municipality Director, or may also present himself as director for the Department of Correctional services invites potential applicants to job interviews while demanding R2000 or R750 for medical test, which he requests that it should be deposited at spar or Shoprite.

Money mongers like him are using different tricks to source money from vulnerable job seekers.Anyone who comes across this information or was contacted by this man on behalf of Inkosi Langalibalele Municipality should know this is untrue and fraudulent. Any person who was approached or has paid money to this unknown man should report the matter to their nearest police station.

The Municipality therefore advises the public not to respond to this type of communiqué but instead report it to the nearest police station for police to investigate. Residents are reminded that recruitments for employment in the Municipality is done through advertisement newspapers and internal HR processes. Community members are also warned against submitting their contact details on social media sites for job adverts.
